NYC Itinerary For Guests

From tourist to New York's newest native, I've spent countless of hours exploring the touristy classics, as well as the authentic hole in the walls that everyday New Yorkers take part in.

Of course, you can never accomplish everything the Big Apple has to offer in one visit, but that just gives you a few more excuses to return to the best city in the world. So, I've rounded up a list of activities to do that should help you make the most of your city weekend itinerary, while checking off all of the essentials.

Some are classic, straight from the movies, while others are off beaten path, local things. From subways and shows, to skyscrapers, grab your fanny packs and camera's and start exploring!

1. One World Trade Center Observatory

This touristy spot is well worth the lines, crowds, and abundance of selfies. Journey all the way to the top of the highest building in NYC, and experience the magical views that will leave you nearly speechless.

2. Saks Fifth Avenue

Before entering the famous ten-floor department store located on the famous streets of 5th avenue, fan-girl at the legendary window displays from across the street. & Try not to max out your cards with in-store boutiques of designers like Chanel and Louis Vuitton!

3. Black Tap

Everything's bigger in New York, and that goes for the milkshakes as well. If you're a sweet tooth enthusiast or simply looking for the perfect gram, $15 can get you an over-the-top milkshake garnished with lollipops, full-sized cookies, and pretzels. Like they say, go big or go home!

4. Watch the Knicks at MSG

No need to ball out at MSG when you sit nosebleed, grab a beer and have just as much fun taking in the excitement of the Garden. Simply plan ahead on this one, and check out Stubhub where you can find inexpensive tickets!

5. Go to a live TV show taping

Not only is being a part of a live studio audience really fun, but there's also something extra exciting and special about watching TV being made. Hit up Late Night or The Tonight Show and get your time in the spotlight!

6. Go on a bagel crawl

Spend your day consuming the best bagels in the world. Loop around Tompkins Sq. Bagels, Black Seed Bagels and more, don't wear jeans, and spend your day enjoying the best spots the city has to offer.

7. Explore the Whitney

Spend the day exploring the Whitney Museum in the historic Meatpacking District. This is a one-stop-spot as the museum is located directly across from the High Line, plus a slew of bars and restaurants within a few blocks. You can spend the whole day here!

8. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge

This traditional tourist activity is worth visiting thanks to its magical skyline views. If you're not quite the outdoors-men, you can look forward to some great eating and drinking options on either end of the bridge.

9. Hang at an arcade bar on a rainy day

The weather in NYC is super indecisive so you must have a back up on a rainy day. Spend the day indoors drinking and gaming at one of the many arcade bars in the city. Fat Cat, Ace Bar and Barcade are all good for a proper day of liquor and pacman.
