1. GET A PLANNER

First and foremost, you must invest in a planner! I suggest it's portable or in digital form so that way, you can mark down appointments and other calendar worthy events when you're on the go. This includes reminders, vacations and anything else to help you cease forgetfulness!

2. SET GOALS

An essential part of the "New Year, New Me" saying involves holding yourself accountable. Whether its the night before or in
the morning, jot down your most important tasks for the day. Setting goals for yourself is much easier to accomplish when you plan on building them into your day!

3. PART WAYS WITH YOUR PAPERS

If you say you don't have piles and piles of paperwork just sitting in various places around your home, than your probably lying. Its time to set aside ample time to go through them and create a filing system for them. This will prepare you for when new papers make their way into your home!

4. SPREADSHEET STYLE

If you haven't experienced the beauty of spreadsheets than your life is about to be changed for the better. Spreadsheets can really help you stay organized from grocery lists to important dates. If these categories need some refining in your life than make some spreadsheets to organize in those areas.

5. BUDGET

There has never been the most perfect time to get your financial priorities in order. Create a budget for yourself, so you can decide where you should be spending your money and where you should be saving it. Knowing where your money goes, helps you stay organized by allowing you to see the big picture before you take on more.

6. CHOOSE A ROOM TO ORGANIZE

This idea may seem a bit daunting at first, but take it room by room! Start with one area of your home or apartment that has been bothering you all year and just spend a little bit of time room organizing it. Pretty soon you will realize how far you’ve come and your whole house will be organized before you know it.

7. TREAT YO-SELF

Among all the work you will be putting into organizing your life this year, don't forget to celebrate your successes! Once you have achieved one of your goals, treat yourself to something fun, whether it be that jacket you have had your eye on, or a night out on the town! YOU deserve it!
